WeddyPlace is Germany’s largest digital marketplace dedicated to wedding planning. Launched in late 2017, WeddyPlace simplifies the wedding planning process for couples through versatile digital mediation services and intuitive planning tools. With continuous growth since its launch, WeddyPlace has become a trusted platform helping thousands of people organise the most special day of their lives.
WeddyPlace needed to evolve from a struggling subsidiary product (Vanolia) into a robust, all-in-one wedding planning platform. The initial codebase was left in disarray due to poor development practices, requiring an urgent “clean-up” and fast improvements. As WeddyPlace expanded, they faced a mix of front-end technologies (React, Vue, Angular) scattered across multiple components, complicating maintenance and new feature development. Additionally, the team needed a reliable partner to handle mobile apps, infrastructure scaling, and ongoing technical support.
We stabilized and optimized the existing Vanolia codebase for WeddyPlace, improving theme management and ensuring fast delivery under tight deadlines. Onsite in Berlin, we collaborated on the planning and development of their new platform, contributing UI/UX consulting and front-end expertise. We built a hybrid mobile app that increased user engagement and created a vendor app for real-time order tracking. Our team migrated the entire system to a scalable infrastructure, provided ongoing technical and business consulting, and maintained platform support in the final year. Key features included a vendor marketplace, wedding budget planner, checklist, admin/vendor panels, and a blog with an integrated store.
